Why we exist
The problem is real
Thousands of associations, cooperatives, and community groups across Nigeria — and Africa broadly — manage their entire operations through a combination of WhatsApp groups, Excel spreadsheets, and manual bank transfers.
Dues go uncollected. Events are poorly attended. Communications are scattered. Leaders burn out on administrative overhead that modern software should handle automatically.
The tools that exist are either built for Western contexts, priced for large enterprises, or too generic to fit the specific patterns of how African organizations actually operate.
Our approach
Purpose-built, not adapted
We didn't take a generic SaaS template and localize it. Alum was designed from scratch around how African member organizations actually work — with the payment methods, communication channels, organizational structures, and workflows that are native to the continent.
The result is a platform that feels immediately familiar to anyone who has ever managed a professional association, cooperative, student union, or faith community. Because it was built for exactly that person.
